Belaire High School (Baton Rouge, LA) RB Caleb Joseph has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. The hometown kid is here to add a significant contribution to a position that is already so strong.
Caleb’s got everything you want from a RB. He’s not perfect, nobody is, but he checks every single box. His biggest strength is his speed – simply put, dude’s fast. Joseph will break away from people and make defenders miss by just running by them. He’s not some raw track athlete or something either; he shows good vision and solid cuts while maintaining an impressive physical presence on the field. He’s not huge (5’10” 194 lbs), but he is willing to bring the thump and run over a defender when the time calls. That physicality is a huge boon for his game, as it helps his ability to pass block as well. Caleb’s not afraid to do the dirty work for a team, which will be great for his chances to get on the field soon even as a younger college player.
Caleb had an objectively great season – 1700 rushing yards, 200 receiving yards, and 20 total TDs – but he did a lot of work for his team off the field as well. This was a young Belaire team that Caleb was one of the key leaders for. He stepped up during his senior season and showed his leadership abilities for his team. Whenever he laces up his cleats the last time, he might put those qualities to great use as a part of air traffic control, which is his hope to do one day. He already has an offer from Bowie State, but he’s still looking to take advantage of this golden opportunity for more exposure.
Playing in this bowl will not only boost my confidence but also influence my future tremendously. Not many people know about #6 form Belaire, so why not wake the people up through this game.
