Acadiana Christian Athletics (Lafayette, LA) OL Lewis Jackson “LJ” Hayles has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. At a staggering 6’3″, 290 lbs, Hayles will be having a very large presence once he gets there.

Everything about Hayles as a player really begins with his size. He’s a big guy – not overwhelmingly tall for a potential college offensive tackle, but the 290 is real, and he looks even bigger on the field. He plays like a monster, slamming people to the ground with some of the best power you can find, and he shows it on the stat line putting up over 25 pancakes this season. He couples that with unbelievable speed for that size. The lateral agility and athleticism is good, as he can stay in front of all sizes of defenders, but the straight line speed is what really stands out. He is playing on the offensive line for the bowl game, but he playing both ways this season, also playing on the defensive line. He finished with 25 tackles, 9 TFLs, 2 sacks and 2 FFs on the year on that side of the ball too.

The athleticism is a joy to watch, but he also has an elite work ethic to go with it. He has played all five positions along the offensive line this season, which is a very difficult thing to accomplish that only the most seasoned, hardest working leaders can normally do. He will be a great offensive lineman no matter where he plays in the bowl game or at the college level, and that explains why he has so many accolades and offers already at this point. He was a first team NHFA All-American, and has piled up 8 offers already, albeit all from smaller schools. He’ll get the chance to make the big time here at the bowl game.

I’m super excited to play against great competition. I want to thank God for allowing me this chance to prove to the nation what I can do against elite competition. I want to put myself on the map and show that I’m one of the most underrated players in the state.
