One of the best defenders in CenLa has committed to play in this year’s Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, and that is Pineville High School safety Jacob Miranda.
The 6’1, 190 pound safety has been an accomplished player for the Rebels competing in one of the toughest districts in the entire state of Louisiana. Miranda has shown over the course of his career what kind of big time playmaker he is on the defensive side of the ball. After an outstanding junior campaign in which Miranda made 1st Team All-CenLa and 2nd Team All-District, Miranda followed it up with an even stronger senior outing with 102 tackles, 4 PBUs, a force fumble, two fumble recoveries, an interception and a touchdown.
Overall, he finished with 161 tackles, 8 PBUs, 4 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, 2 INTs, and has turned some of those turnovers into touchdowns with three. Miranda has credited his play to his physical ability and his high football IQ to read opposing offenses mentally. The Pineville veteran defender showed off his ability at this year’s Gridiron Football Elite Camp where he earned an invitation to play in this year’s Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game with a great showing.
With a 3.2 GPA and a 21 ACT score, he has received offers from Louisiana Christian, Lyon College, Massachusetts Maritime, Millsaps College, Methodist University, Hendrix University, Bethany College, Sterling College, Bethel College, and Minnesota Vermillion College. Jacob Miranda will look to add to that list by representing the Rebels at this year’s Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, December 30th.
