Warren Easton Charter (New Orleans, LA) LB Khaliq Bell has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. He’s a great linebacker to bolster the center of his team’s defense.
Khaliq is a solid player who can do more in coverage than your standard high school linebacker. He’s got all the normal tools – he’s a sure tackler, his instincts are sound, and his range is really good. But its his abilities in coverage that separate him – he has shown the ability to cover in passing situations, sticking to his zone assignments and even defending passes. You can find a lot of hard hitting tacklers, but Khaliq brings a more nuanced skillset to the linebacking core. He’s 6’0″ 195 lbs, big enough to play at a high level, and his speed and strength combination makes him a huge boon for his defense. This man squats 485 pounds! He still brings the power. He doesn’t have any offers yet, but he’ll get his chance to show the world what he can do tomorrow.
