GF All-American Bowl Game Commit: Carlos Bazert Jr.

Avoyelles High School defensive lineman Carlos Bazert Jr. has committed to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.

The 6’2, 253-pound bruising bulldozer Carlos Bazert Jr. from Avoyelles High School ended his prep career as the most prolific rusher in the program’s history. Leading Andy Boone’s double tight double wing offensive attack that featured three running backs that have combined for close to 6,000 yards on the ground and 75 touchdowns in one season, Carlos was the big hammer rushing for 1,700 yards and 23 TDs in 2022. It was also this season that he became the school’s all-time leading rusher with a staggering 5,159 yards and 71 TDs. Despite being a great running back at the high school level, Coach Boone believes that Carlos would make a great defensive lineman at the college level. The 1st Team All-District and All-CenLa selection will get the chance to get plenty of reps at both positions at the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game in Orange Beach, Alabama.

“It means a lot to me, and I thought of it as an opportunity for me to display my skills at a larger level than where I’m from.”

Avoyelles High School RB/DL Carlos Bazert Jr.

Join Carlos on Dec 30th in Orange Beach, Alabama at the Orange Beach Sportsplex for a 5pm kickoff.
