DITR: Montarius Freeman

Montarius Freeman is a class of 2022 athlete. He is 6’2 and weighs 220 pound defensive end for Oak Grove High School. He benches 260, squats 405, and power cleans 300. His 40 time is 4.8 and has a 3.2 GPA. He is a 2 time state champion, 1 time state runner up, and 1st team All-District. He also has one offer from University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

I’m from Oak Grove, LA. A small town where everyone knows everyone and everyone loves football.

How did you start playing football?

I started playing when I was 6 or 7 in peewee league and I never stopped playing since then.

What is your main goal for this season?

Just to win another state championship my senior year and to do good this season as a team.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from football?

I would say family. I’ve learned a lot about family and culture and made many new friends.

What is a long term achievement you want to accomplish?

My end goal is to play is to play in the NFL, but the goal right now is to play at the collegiate level.

Who or what keeps you motivated?

I’d say my parents. They’re on me to make sure I’m bettering myself to help my team.

Who would you compare your style of play to and why?

I would say Eric Donald. I watch a lot of his stuff. I try to strive to be like that.

What do you think sets you apart from other players?

My mindset. I have to go out here and be a dog at every play. I have to make sure the person in front of me knows who I am.
