We have out first player from the state of Texas as Marshall High School WR Raijon Sims has decided to commit to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
At 6’0, 160 pounds, Sims has tremendous speed running a 4.5/40 and has proven to be a versatile playmaker for the Marshall Mavericks. As a junior, Sims emerged as a top weapon with 600 yards receiving and five touchdowns. In fact, he won the school’s Best Receiver of the Year Award for his consistent play. Not to mention, he is also a standout basketball player and member of the track team.
The 2nd Team All-District receiver comes into the season as one of the best receivers in East Texas and is even getting some snaps on both sides of the football by playing some cornerback. His ability to become a ball magnet and a playmaker helped him receive an offer to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game after his standout performance at the Gridiron Football Elite Camp, which was held at Westwood High School in Palestine, Texas.
Sims wanted to go to the camp just to get invited to play in the bowl game and now, since has has earned an invite with his play on the field and also because of his 3.0 GPA in the classroom, Raijon Sims cannot wait to show off his talents in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium.
“My thoughts on playing in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game is that I can get another opportunity after the football season to showcase my talent on the football field right in front of college recruiters. I want to get recognized more after the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game and hopefully, get offers from my performance after.”
