Kenner Discovery High School (Kenner, LA) WR Braylon Byrd has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. Braylon is only 5’8″, 145 lbs. He’s a small dude. That does not matter. He’s still a dog.
Braylon still made it to this bowl game despite being under 150 lbs and one of the shortest players in the game because he’s just that good anyway. He’s a playmaker, able to do everything as a WR that you could ask for. His routes are crisp and impressive, giving him separation from his defenders. His speed is killer after the catch, making him a big threat to break off a big play. He’s got great hands too, and his ball tracking ability in particular is great. He’s not going to dominate in the contested catch world, but his ball tracking and speed allows him to still be a huge threat deep down the field.
Braylon also has a background playing multiple positions, also playing QB and DB for his team. He earned 2nd team All-District honors for his performance. He doesn’t have any offers yet, but tomorrow is his chance to show the world what this man can accomplish.
I’m excited. It’s a blessing and an opportunity to show my talent to college coaches and I am ready to get to work.
