Istrouma High School (Baton Rouge, LA) OL Darryon Simmons has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. This game has some great talent at running back and they will be running behind Derryon all game alongside some of the other great talent that we have on the offensive line.
Darryon is a 6-foot-4, 325 pound offensive lineman who has an innate ability to always find a block. Not only is he strong on the initial push, but he always keeps his head down field looking to find another when there is no one at hand. You can see in his film just how many impact blocks he gets by remaining in the play when others would remain stagnant. He also has a 3.1 GPA and currently holds 7 scholarship offers to play at the next level.
Darryon was a 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-State selection this year, emphasizing just how dominant he was this season. Istrouma would have a great season this year, finishing 9-4 and even making a playoff run before coming up just short in the third round to Madison Prep in a one-score loss. Out of their 4 losses this season, they only lost by more than one possession once showing just how competitive this team truly was. Darryon was a huge piece of the O-Line that allowed All-State RB Kyree Paul to rush for over 1,500 yards and 20 TDs.
“Let faith be bigger than your fear, don’t be scared to succeed” is something that I live by. I believe this game is a great way to expose myself to a bigger audience and show everyone what I can really do against some great competition as well.
