Warren Easton High School (New Orleans, LA) LB Jamaal LaCaze has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. This game is full of talent from top to bottom and Jamaal is amongst the most talented, coming out of the New Orleans area.
LaCaze is a field general who flys around and stays involved in the run and pass game. As a quarterback, he is definitely someone who you have to keep an eye out for when dropping back to make sure he is not lurking over the middle. But he also uses his 4.65 40 speed to consistently blow up plays in the backfield whether it is designed runs or him spying the QB and using his closing speed when they decide to escape the pocket. Standing at 5-foot-10 inches and 210 pounds, he is a complete player who any defensive coordinator would love to have at their disposal.
Jamaal has a 3.1 GPA, taking care of his business in the classroom as well. Strength as a linebacker is one of your biggest assets and he works very hard in the weight room to make sure he is in the best shape that he can be. He has personal bests of 365 on bench press, he squats 525, and cleans 275. He had a great season this year, elevating his game to a new level and earning himself the Scout team Player of the Year along with Most Improved player from his team. He also made the All-District special teams squad.
