The next Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game commitment comes from the trenches as Iota High School (Iota, LA) defensive lineman Trevor Ruffner has decided to play in this year’s bowl game.
When it comes to the defensive line, Ruffner may not be the biggest guy when it comes to size at only 5’9, 230 pounds, but he makes up for it with his relentless motor, sideline to sideline speed, quickness, and athleticism to get off blocks.
With a 3.8 GPA and a 29 on his ACT, the Bulldogs’ senior defensive lineman is what you want in a student athlete. While going to Iota High School, he also goes to LSU Eunice as well. He has been a productive player over his career making All-District as a junior and already having a good start to the season in his senior season with recently being the Week 4 Acadia Parish Farm Bureau Player of the Week after having six tackles and a tackle for loss in a 48-7 win over Pine Prairie. He can also play fullback if needed as he does have a rushing touchdown over his career.
Also, Ruffner is a state championship powerlifter for Iota with 405 pounds on bench, 540 pounds on squat, and 540 pounds on deadlift. Not to mention, he also made it to state throwing the shotput.
Ruffner earned his Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game invite after having a great performance at our Elite Camp at St. Edmund High School in Eunice, Louisiana earlier this summer. He impressed the staff with his athletic ability, 4.89/40 speed, 4.7 shuttle speed, and his strength going against bigger opponents. At the end of the season, Trevor Ruffner will get the chance to show off his talents at this year’s Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium.
“I am going to do my best and will have fun with this experience!”

Trevor Ruffner will be playing one final game to impress college coaches, but he is also playing for his 19 year old brother Hayden Ruffner, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma four years ago.
Hayden has become an inspiration to the local community as he has opened up a non-profit organization called Hayden’s Corner, which is a coffeeshop that the Ruffner family has started this June to raise awareness and money for osteosarcoma. All the proceeds will be donated to families of St. Jude Children’s Hospital patients.
If you want to learn more about Hayden’s Corner, make sure to click the image below to join their Facebook Group! Also, if you are ever in the Crowley area and want to get some coffee or some ice cream while supporting a good cause, make sure to stop by!
Their address is 516 SE Court Circle, Crowley, LA 70526!
