Jack C Hays High School (San Marcos, TX) defensive lineman Lynford Noriega has committed to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game representing the Hays Hawks.

Noriega is a senior 6-foot-3, 215-pound defensive lineman who was one of the top players in the state of Texas this season with his perfomance ranking among the best. Noriega would end the season with 65 total tackles, 28 solo tackles, 12 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and 2 pass deflections. He averaged 7.2 tackles per game and was ranked #1 in Texas 5A football and 14th overall in the state for sacks on the season. His season earned him an All-District selection.

Noriega shines off the field as well, hitting the books hard and maintaining a 3.0 GPA and also scored a 1146 on the SAT. He also puts in major work inside the weight room, with a squat max of 465, bench max of 275 and a 515-pound deadlift. He has received one scholarship offer from Minnesota North College Vermilion. Noriega is looking forward to playing in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game because he gets the opportunity to showcase his skills one last time and prove himself as a collegiate-level player against stiff competition. The game will be played at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, December 30th.

“I think playing in this bowl game is an amazing opportunity. It is going to be a great way to learn from different coaches and get tips to improve my game from them and it is also a good way to gain exposure. I’m hoping to showcase my skills and get a chance to play at the next level.”
