Franklin Parish High School offensive lineman Drew Calloway has committed to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
The 6’4, 330 pound mauler has plowed through opposing defensive linemen in leading the Franklin Parish Patriots to their first district championship in school history. Along the way, he led the offense to producing over 5,000 yards of offense while allowing only two sacks all season.
Calloway has been a staple for the Patriots’ offense by making 2nd Team All-District his sophomore year and also making 1st Team All-District his junior and senior year.
Besides pancaking offensive linemen, Calloway has many talents including on the football field where he also acted as Franklin Parish’s extra point specialist with 19 converted extra points. Off the field, Calloway is a part of the school’s track and field team where he has won a state championship last season for discus and made it to state for shot put.
Calloway is also very active in his church where he plays guitar for the youth band and he has been learning co-ed stunting with his cheer friends. When given the opportunity, he likes to run 5ks and finally, his secret talent is that he can juggle blindfolded.
After playing in the East West I-20 All-Star game, Drew Calloway will play his last high school game at the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
“First off, I am more than grateful for the opportunity to play in the game and extend my season just a little longer. The senior year flew by and day by day, I wish that I had more time to play the game I love, but I know that all things come to an end so I’m very excited to play with talented athletes from all over. From the game, I’m hoping to gain some exposure, but also some friendships that would last a lifetime.”
