Carencro High School (Carencro, LA) DE Jakayln Roy has committed to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
The 5’11, 200 pound pass rusher may not be the biggest defensive lineman in the trenches, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for it with his incredible quickness, athleticism, and speed off the edge. Whether it is rushing the passer or playing against the run, Roy has done it all for the Carencro Bears.
In his senior season, Roy was an All-State honorable mention with 65 tackles and 7.5 sacks, but Roy has proven how good he is over his prep career making 1st Team All-District as a senior and 2nd Team All-District as a junior. He also is second all-time in sacks in a game.
Arkansas Monticello has seen what kind of player “Pop” is as he has committed to play for the Boll Weevils at the next level.
“What made me commit to Arkansas Monticello is the bond of the team. I like the way the players and coaches stick together through tough times and I really like the coaching staff Coach Walker is a coach that cares about his players and hold them to a standard that is high and that’s what I’m looking for.”
