The Bulldogs Throttle Rebels In Pearl River

It was the first night of the first round of the Louisiana High School Football playoffs and tonight the Cecilia Bulldogs found themselves in good ole Pearl River, Louisiana to take on the Rebels.

On the first night of a cold front, many Rebel fans packed the stands the brim with red and white. It was the Rebels first playoff game they have hosted in many years. It has been a long time coming.

The city was feeling the electric vibes off the backs off this Cinderella story of a season for the Rebels.

As with most Cinderella stories, most come to a quick end. Tonight that was indeed the case.

The Cecilia Bulldogs imposed their will on the Rebels as soon as they stepped off the busses.

Pearl River would get the ball first and after just a few plays into the game and a helpful facemask penalty would help put the Rebels in the end zone off the back of RB Tashod Badon with 7:09 in the first.

Cecilia would get the ball and return it to the 47 yard line to start things off and would walk it down the field with ease.

QB Diesel Solari scrambles for 32 yards to score for the Bulldogs. They would then go for two and convert giving them the 8-7 lead.

This would be the start of the throttling the Bulldogs would rain down. the Bulldogs would extend their lead in the first 22-7 rather quickly.

Later in the game in the second quarter just before the half, after the Bulldogs had a 36-14 lead, the Rebels found some life and brought the score to 36-29 at the half.

The Rebel would not score again the rest of the game. Cecilia would put 50 on the board in the third quarter and run the clock out in the fourth to win and advance to the next round of the playoffs.

Final score is 50-29 Bulldogs over the Rebels
