Madison Prep Dominates Second Half

It was a muddy night in Louisiana when Madison Prep Chargers took on the Booker T Washington Lions. Tonight’s matchup was a quarterfinal game. This game had some of the more talented teams in the state

Madison seemed determined to establish the run early, they would feed the ball to their running back, or their quarterback was also a threat to run the ball. In their first offensive drive, they were able to put together a strong offensive showing, scoring to take an early 7-0 lead. Their spread offense was effective throughout the game, and after establishing the run they found some success through the air later in the game. Booker T also favored the run, though they focused more on the quarterback’s ability to run.  Booker T was able to find the endzone twice early in the game and were able to capitalize on big plays and finishing drives. The first half ended 10-20 Booker T, they seemed to be in control scoring finishing the half with a touchdown, and a 10-point lead. In the first half, it seemed like Booker T was on the verge of taking over the game and had all the momentum in their favor. Once the second half kicked off it was all Madison Prep. Within a minute of the 3rd quarter kicking off, Madison Prep scored twice. They broke off a big run on the opening drive, and defensively they blocked a punt and recovered it in the endzone, retaking the lead 24-20. In the 3rd quarter alone, Madison Prep found the endzone three times. Madison Prep dominated the rest of the game, they did not allow Booker T to score and scored two more touchdowns of their own. Including a screen pass for 20 yards. Defensively they started to bring more pressure on the Booker T offense, and it bothered them throughout the second half and they only had a few sustained drives. The game ended 20-38 Madison Prep, who moves on to play Union Parish next week.
