Runner-Up: 2024 DL Nathan “Tank” Marsh, Allen High School (Texas), 8,465 votes

It looked like the defensive lineman Nathan “Tank” Marsh was going to be our second defensive player to win our Player of the Week Award for little bit but he ultimately fell short. The standout defensive lineman from Allen High School (Texas) had eight tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks in the Eagles’ 36-33 victory over Martin (Arlington) High School in the second round of the UIL 6A-D1 Playoffs.

For the second time in the last three weeks, Archbishop Shaw quarterback Mason Wilson has made the Top 10 list and for good reason. In the Eagles’ come-from-behind 20-13 victory over Evangel Christian Academy, Wilson completed four of his seven passes for 130 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 199 yards and scoring a rushing touchdown as well.

In Week 10, Wilson was a huge part of Shaw’s 57-50 upset victory over Lafayette area powerhouse Carencro High School as he completed four of his 11 pass attempts for 148 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 197 yards and four touchdowns in one of the biggest statement wins of the year.

5th Place: 2025 RB Chad Elzy, Ascension Catholic High School (La.); 343 votes

In what was probably the most shocking result by the time voting closed was that Chad Elzy didn’t have the highest vote total. You may ask why that’s shocking. Well, it’s not like the young man ran for 461 yards and eight touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 77-43 dismantling of Opelousas Catholic in the second round of the LHSAA Division IV Select playoffs. He also had had two catches for 55 yards an a touchdown. So in total, he had 516 yards of total offense and nine touchdowns.

6th Place: 2024 RB Damien Johnson, Midland Legacy High School (Texas); 311 votes

Another shocker in the voting was how low Midland Legacy High School running back Damien Johnson finished. Johnson had 26 carries for 349 yards and four touchdowns in their nailbiting 57-55 victory over Euless Trinity High School.

7th Place: 2024 QB Stevie Holloway, Logansport High School (La.); 223 votes

In Byron Nelson High School’s 35-7 over Midland High School, quarterback Tom von Grote completed 19 of his 25 pass attempts for 225 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 100 yards and two more touchdowns.

Parkview Baptist wide receiver Brock Comeaux is one of the best wide receivers in the Baton Rouge and his last perfromance proved why. Comeaux had six catches for 172 yards and three touchdowns in hos team’s second round 39-32 victory over Dunham.

10th Place: 2025 WR Daylon Singleton, DeSoto High School (Texas); 11 votes

DeSoto High School has produced a lot of great players including All-Pro linebacker Von Miller and former LSU defensive back Jalen Mills who currently plays for the New England Patriots.
