Former Archbishop Rummel & Notre Dame Running Back Logan Diggs Signs With LSU

Former Archbishop Rummel standout running back Logan Diggs is returning back to the Boot after signing with LSU. The former Notre Dame running back also reunites with his former head coach Brian Kelly, who he signed with back in 2021.

Diggs was ranked as the number 22 running back in the nation and the 13th best player in Louisiana back in his prep days with Archbishop Rummel. Diggs was a key catalyst in the Raiders’ Division I State Championship win in 2019 with 923 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He followed that with a 646 rushing yard and seven touchdown performance his senior season.

Diggs originally chose Notre Dame coming out of high school and over the last two years with the Fighting Irish, ran for 1,052 yards and seven touchdowns while also adding 16 catches for 267 yards and three touchdowns receiving. Diggs is coming off a great sophomore campaign when he ran for 822 of those yards and four touchdowns this past season. After last season, Diggs decided to enter the transfer portal and chose the Tigers today over the likes of South Carolina and Ole Miss.

Now, the 6’0, 214 pound running back will come to Baton Rouge and join a talented running back room for the 2023 season including the likes of Josh Williams, John Emery, Noah Cain, Armoni Goodwin, Trey Holly and Kaleb Jackson.

Besides Cain, Logan Diggs will be the Tigers’ most experience running back in a crowded backfield and will also bring a lot of certainty to the position.
