When did you start playing football & what made you start playing?
“I started playing football when I was 4 years old with the LaPlata Knights back in my home state, Maryland. The reason I started playing football was just the love I had for it, my mom and grandma always knew I would play, because when I was an infant, I would tackle my older cousins before I even knew how to walk.”
What do you love about football?
“The thing I love about football is the intensity and free range it has. Everybody thinks you have to be the biggest, fastest, or strongest person to be great, but football is more than that. You have to have a high level of iq, a wide variety of skill set, and just feel for the game.”
What player, NFL or College did you model your game after?
“I don’t necessarily model my game after one person. I take great skill sets from a variety of players like the patience of Le’veon Bell, the shiftiness from a small back like Bucky Irving, the receiving skills of Christian McCaffrey, the ability to play two positions like Deebo Samuel, and put my own spin to it.”
What would your teammates say about you?
“The thing my teammates would say about me is that I’m competitive, honest, funny, smart, and hardworking.”
What is your motivation?
“My motivation is just being the first one in my family to make it to the NFL. Plenty of people in my family were talented and skilled enough to play high level and even the NFL but didn’t due to drugs just not taking school serious.”
What parts of your game are you working on right now?
“The part of my game that I’m really improving on is blocking. My current running back coach, Coach Johns, who is one of my favorite coaches ever, made me realize the importance of blocking and just finding work without the ball being in my hands.”
What is your goal for this season?
“My goal for this season is to win state, contribute as much as I can to this team, and get as much exposure as I can.”
What game or moment in the game has been your favorite up to this point?
“My favorite game so far this season would probably be the first game of the season against Midland Legacy, because we had played them in playoffs last year and I felt like winning 61-0 gave the team a confidence booster and was the tone setter for the season.”
What do you do on your free time outside of school?
“In my free time, I spend time with my family, work out, play video games, and just hang out with my friends.”
What is one thing that you think college coaches and recruiters should know about you?
“I think that if I had the opportunity to let college coaches and recruiters know one thing about me, it would be that I’m going to compete. No matter what challenges or obstacles happen in my life, I’m going to compete and show why I belong with the best of the best.”
What do you think your best trait is?
“I think my best trait is that I am competitor, I never back down from a challenge and nothing can stand in my way of what I want to achieve, no matter if it’s sports related or not. I give my best 100 percent of the time and I never settle for less.”
