One of the best defenders on one of the most talented defenses in the state of Louisiana has committed to play in the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. At 6’6, 235 pounds, Laramie Guidry, from University Lab, is an incredible physical specimen and is really a prototype for all of the great NFL defensive ends that you see now a days including the Bosa brothers, Aiden Hutchinson, and TJ Watt. Earlier this offseason, Guidry earned himself a Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game invitation with his performance at the Gridiron Football Elite Camp that was held at Rayville High School. His dominant performance set the course for Guidry to have a nice senior season, which is still currently going on as he is a game away from going to the state championship for the second straight season. In his senior season with the U-High Cubs, he has over 30 tackles, 8 sacks, and 9 PBUS. Guidry has also been versatile on the offensive side of the football as he has also played tight end for the Cubs. His junior season, before he transferred to U-High in Baton Rouge, he was with another top Baton Rouge football program in the Dunham Tigers and led them to a state championship appearance with an eye-popping season that included 16 sacks, 25.5 tackles, 7 TFLs, 13 quarterback hurries, a forced fumble, and seven pass breakups.
The 2nd Team All-District selection has the ability to take over games with his length, quick strides, and his ability to affect the throwing paths of quarterbacks with his incredibly long wingspan. Also, add a 3.4 GPA and a 25 ACT score, you have yourself a DI prospect. In fact, he is not only a DI prospect, but a DI commit.
Just before the start of the season, Laramie Guidry announced his commitment to Central Arkansas as he will be a Bear next season, but this year’s first Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game commitment that is committed to a DI school is looking forward to have one more fantastic outing before he continues his career to play at the next level.
