Teurlings Catholic DB Kaleb Daniels has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. He’s a rangy playmaker that will be shutting down a large chunk of the field as a safety.
Kaleb’s skills as a safety revolve around two main features: his athleticism and his football intelligence. Kaleb is a twitchy athlete, with incredible acceleration and change of direction abilities. He reaches his top speed quickly, and his top speed is really high as well, which makes him a complete athlete. He’s not just a raw athlete either, its his football IQ on top of that athleticism that makes him so impressive. He can recognize what the play is and where the ball is going seemingly instantly, and his instinctive feel for the game as a safety allows him to utilize and maximize his athleticism.
In particular, the combination of lateral agility and reaction time makes him one of the best tackling safeties in the state. He’s 6’0″ and 177 lbs, but his technique allows him to be a truly elite open field tackler. That elite tackling moniker is the focal point of Kaleb’s stat line. He finished the season with 72 tackles, 3 TFLs, 5 FFs, and 5 PBUs. He also played some WR, only catching 3 passes but finishing with 95 yards and one highlight reel TD. He’s got 4 offers already, and the bowl game is just one last great chance to earn some more.
