Assumption High School OL Jace Williams has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, and that guarantees one thing: somebody’s being taken to the bus.
You remember The Blind Side? Yep. That’s what I’m talking about. Jace Williams will have a rep sometime this weekend that looks shockingly like that iconic scene. That’s because, regardless of any other traits he has on the football field, one thing is always true about him: Jace Williams plays through the whistle. All. The way. Through the whistle. He is the sort of offensive lineman that will send his defender into the shadow realm.
Williams played offensive and defensive tackle at Assumption, but he’ll be playing just on the Oline in the bowl game. Standing at 6’2″ 280, he’s a big dude with a lot of weight to throw around, and he is not afraid to use it. He’s incredibly powerful of course, and once he gets his motor running, there is no stopping that freight train. He has a one-of-a-kind wherewithal on the field, absolutely never giving up on a play no matter the situation. Those traits got him noticed at a young age, as he was an all-district honorable mention as a freshman. Since then, the accolades have only grown, earning all state honors his junior year and all district honors on both sides of the ball his senior year. He already has 3 offers, but there is no better motivation to give all the effort he can than to earn more offers at the bowl game.
It’s a pleasure to be able to compete with some of the best athletes in high school. The main thing I want to accomplish is to get more recognition. I want people to see how good of an athlete I am.
