Glen Oaks High School (Baton Rouge, LA) WR Catron Hargrove has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. He’s a great athlete that can help his team by playing a myriad of different positions, but he’ll be playing WR for the bowl game tomorrow.
Catron was his team’s starting QB, the leader of the team for a reason. He isn’t likely to play QB at the college level – he’s playing WR at the bowl game, likely because that’s his most likely position at the next level. No, he was Glen Oaks’ starting QB because he was the team’s best athlete. He could throw the ball well enough, but it was his speed and athleticism that made him so deadly under center. His top line speed is impressive, and his acceleration allows him to reach it quickly. He is a deadly threat to break off a big play any time he has the ball in his hands, and that translates well to the wide receiver position.
Catron is a two sport athlete, a track star who runs the 200 and 400 meter dash as well. That speed translates well of course, but it also shows just what level of athlete Catron is. He doesn’t have any offers yet, but that is his one big priority for tomorrow. This is his chance, and we can’t wait to see what he does with it.
I’m very excited. It’s one of the last chances to show these college coaches. I am looking forward to leading my team to a win tomorrow and hopefully get a college offer.
