Our next Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game quarterback commit is one of the most productive senior quarterbacks from the state of Texas. That is Hawley High School’s own Keagan Ables.
Playing for his dad Mitch Ables and also with his younger brother Camden Ables, the Ables trio has led this team to being one of the best 2A teams in the state of Texas winning 21 games the last two seasons.
The 6’1, 210 pound signal caller not only led the Bearcats to a lot of wins, but he has put up some crazy numbers as a two year starter for the Bearcats. In his first year as a starter, he threw for 3,453 yards and 44 touchdowns while rushing for 284 yards and five touchdowns. Ables followed his first season with just as productive of a senior season throwing for 3,473 yards and 36 touchdowns while adding 661 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Overall, in a two year period, this dual threat threw for 6,923 yards and 80 touchdowns while rushing for 945 yards and 15 scores. He has also excelled not only in football, but as a multi-sport athlete in basketball and baseball.
The All-State quarterback has quite a prolific high school career, but not only is he a good athlete, he has also displayed great toughness and grit in leading the Bearcats. Now that his high school career is over, Ables is now shifting his focus to college.
With a 4.0 GPA, Keagan Ables has received offers from Hardin Simmons, McMurry, Howard Payne, and Grinnell College, He will get one more opportunity to represent the Hawley High School football program as one of the quarterbacks in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium.
“I want to get an extra chance to compete and play the game that I love. I look forward to playing with teammates from all over and gaining exposure. My goal is to play at the collegiate level, and I believe this will help me be more prepared for when that time comes.”
