Escambia OL Caiden Young has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. He’s a guard with a quick motor that gets him out able to block deep into plays.
That’s the biggest thing that sticks out about this big man. He’s 6’1″, 305 lbs, but he has the acceleration to get out into the secondary and the agility to get in front of the defender and lay down that block. Escambia really trusted him with pulls and screen passes, where he would get out in front of the line of scrimmage and be expected to lay a specific block. He always did it – he always would make an impact on the play. It’s the dirty work that allows for the flashy explosive play that everyone remembers. He’s got power, he’s got technique, but it’s the motor that is the most impressive.
Caiden used those abilities to produce at a high level this season. He only allowed 1 sack and 2 pressures all season, and he finished with 15 pancake blocks. He was great on the field, but he also impressed off the field as well as Cayden finished with a 3.0 GPA and A/B Honor Roll. He has one offer from Salt River Community College, but this is a great chance for him to earn offers from bigger schools.
I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to play in a bowl game where I can continue to showcase my talent and also meet people that have the same love for the game that I have.
