Delta Charter (Ferriday, LA) WR Tyrin Singleton has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. He’s playing receiver tomorrow, but he’s just an elite athlete that will be a difference maker at any position.
Tyrin played RB primarily at Delta Charter, and he also returned kicks. What he can do with the ball in his hands is truly special. His cuts are unbelievable, showcasing a very high level of skill in agility and change of direction. When you combine that with his acceleration and topline speed, and he is a threat to break a TD run at any point in time. Even if you can somehow get your hands on him, that doesn’t guarantee anything either. He’s not big – 5’10”, 192 lbs – but he’s solid and will break away from arm tackles, showing his good contact balance. Obviously, this means his role as a receiver will likely be pretty YAC-oriented, but he can do plenty of the more “traditional” receiver things too. His change of direction abilities translate to route running well, and he can catch a football just fine as well. Even though most of his production came as a RB, he’s such an impressive athlete and hard worker (3.2 GPA) that he will do just fine as a WR.
Tyrin used those athletic skills to earn many impressive accolades throughout his senior season. He finished the season with 1672 rushing yards, over 300 receiving yards, and 19 total TDs. He was, unsurprisingly, his district’s offensive MVP, and he won the Gridiron Football Player of the Week for his unbelievable performance in one of the best games in the state of Louisiana this year. In Delta Charter’s infamous 84-82 win over General Trass, Singleton was the force behind Delta Charter’s points: he finished with 38 carries for 369 yards and 5 TDs. He also added on 2 2pt conversions, totaling 34 of his team’s 84 points just by himself. You can check out more about that performance here, and Gridiron Beat Writer Isharay Jones wrote more about him during the season here. He doesn’t have any offers yet, but if he can show up like he did against General Trass (or really at any point in the season), that seems highly likely to change.
I’m competing for an opportunity and competing with people around the world so it will be a good matchup with the best going up against the best.
