Cecilia High School (Breaux Bridge, LA) defensive lineman Rylan Hardy has committed to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game representing the LHSAA Division II Non-Select State Champions.
Hardy is a senior leader for the Bulldogs’ state championship defense as he recorded 41 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks. At 5’11, 240 pounds, Hardy may not be the biggest guy out there, but he makes up for it with his relentless motor, quickness, and ability to use his hands to get past offensive linemen including making the game sealing play on a sack fumble to secure the Bulldogs’ first state championship since 1995.
Playing varsity football since his freshman year, Hardy uses martial arts like wrestling and MMA to help with football. In fact, he even got to train with MMA fighters like Alan Jouban to help help him. With a 2.7 GPA, Hardy is looking forward to playing in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game because he gets another opportunity to play the game he loves. The game will be played at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, December 30th.
“My thought process going into the game is that this is it. There is no more football after this. I just want to go in there and give it all I got. I just want to accomplish something while showing people what I have and what I can do in the sport of football.”
