One of the top quarterbacks from the state of Louisiana has committed to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. That is Bunkie High School legend Dillon Compton, who will be one of the signal callers playing in this year’s game.
The 6’1, 195 pound dual threat quarterback had himself an outstanding two year run in leading the Panthers to two of their best seasons in program history.
As a junior, Compton really emerged on the scene for head coach Jimmie Hillman and the Panthers leading the team to a 9-2 record while accounting for 2,551 yards and 42 touchdowns. Last season, he also racked up a lot of awards and recognitions being named 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-CenLa, 1st Team All-District, All-State Honorable Mention and also being named the Parish MVP.
This year, Bunkie’s senior leader showed why his junior campaign was no fluke with another spectacular season posting similar numbers with 2,855 yards and 41 touchdowns. While he led the Panthers to another successful regular season going 10-0, but this time, the Panthers went all the way to the semifinals being one game short of the Superdome.
Compton has certainly made his impact at the school showing that the Bunkie Panthers are a force to be reckoned with in the future. To add to his on the field accomplishments, Compton also is an incredible student with a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. When not playing football, he likes to cook, eat, spend time with family, and also likes to play multiple instruments including the guitar, piano, and drums.
Currently, Dillon Compton has received offers from Navy, Centenary College, Louisiana Christian, Millsaps College, and West Liberty. He is looking forward to having one more chance of showing off his skills alongside fellow Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game teammate Kyle Johnson at the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
