Hometown hero Jaden Banguel has committed to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, representing Belaire High School not 10 miles away from the bowl game at Memorial Stadium.

Banguel is the exact kind of football player you want on your team, with the ability and willingness to do whatever coach asks him to do. He’ll likely play defensive back in the bowl game, but he’s played a litany of different positions on both sides of the ball during the season. Playing both WR and RB on offense, he totaled 523 all purpose yards and 5 TDs – 329 receiving, and 194 rushing.

What stands out the most about Banguel as a player is that he’s not afraid to “do the dirty work.” He’s very athletic, a massive threat with the ball in his hands, and a sound route runner, but that doesn’t stop him from being willing to block. He’s a very proficient blocker out on the perimeter, and that only gives him more opportunities to get the ball out in space. That also translates to the defensive side of the ball, where his ability to tackle will help him immensely in the secondary. He’s a smaller player – 5’8″ 170, but he packs a big punch in that smaller frame.
