McDonogh 35 DE Lyndon Vallery has committed to the Gridiron Football All American Bowl Game. He’s an impressive athlete with a combination of size and speed that will be highly valued by whichever team has him this weekend.
Standing at 6’3″ 225, Vallery is big enough to stand on his own on the line of scrimmage without giving up an inch. He played all over the defensive line (as well as at offensive tackle) in high school, but he’ll be playing on the edge specifically at the bowl game. That’s because of his best trait – a first step that gets him past his blocker incredibly often. He is truly lightning quick off the ball, getting into the backfield and immediately disrupting things. He has all the other tools too – he’s a solid tackler, and his experience all over the defensive line makes him a solid run defender as well. Vallery turned that ability into production this year, compiling over 12 sacks this season, as well as two block punt recoveries, and a half safety.
Vallery is an all around athlete with experience playing multiple other sports as well. He did track and field and wretstling in high school, as well as a brief time doing powerlifting. He earned all district honors this season and already has one offer, but he is looking for more accolades at this bowl game.
I just want to continue playing the sport I love at a higher level and compete against high level players to get myself better each play.
