Barbe High School DT Courtlyn Houston has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. He brings lots of athleticism and power to the defensive line, bolstering it right down the middle.
The first thing that stands out about Houston is, of course, his size. He’s 6’2″ and tips the scales at 302 pounds, a monster in the middle of your defense. He couples that impressive size with the athleticism and speed to get by the offensive lineman trying to stand in his way, and the power to push them back if need be. Then, once he shed the blocker, the ball carrier would not be able to get past his waiting arms.
His favorite NFL player is Aaron Donald, and he tries his best to emulate that generational great on the field himself. He was a terror on the line, getting into the backfield and wreaking havoc all season, which earned him 1st team all district honors. He’s also a competitive power lifter, showing off the kind of strength he has on the field. His only offer is to Centenary, but he’s looking for more this weekend.
I’ve very excited to be able to have these opportunities to play and experience playing with people all over and see how well I’ll do. Not even that, I’m excited to just play football again and to meet people who have played football and how they feel about the game.
