Amite High School offensive lineman Cole Sharkey has committed to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
The 6’2, 290 pound interior offensive lineman was the captain of a strong Warriors offensive line as the team’s starting center. As you can see throughout his highlight tape how strong Sharkey is being able to pancake defensive linemen quickly after snapping the football with the help of his 365 bench max and 515 squat max.
Whether it is driving opposing defensive linemen to the ground or providing running lanes for the Warriors’ talented running backs, Sharkey has done plenty of that throughout his high school career.
Playing for one of the best small school football programs in Louisiana, Sharkey is a four year starter that helped lead the Warriors to a state championship as a freshman starter. Building on that success, he earned 1st Team All-District honors both in 2023 and 2024 while also receiving the lineman of the year award as a junior. He finished his senior season perhaps playing his best football by making 2nd Team All-State for his play.
Just as impressive as his play on the field, it may be more impressive with what he is doing off the field as he earned Student of the Year honors with a 3.5 GPA and having 33 college credit honors already just entering his senior year.
With his success as a student athlete, Cole Sharkey has received offers from Centenary College and
Virginia University of Lynchburg. He is looking to build on that success as he represents the Warriors one final time at the upcoming 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which is being played in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium.
“After looking at the history of the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, I believe that it will be a great opportunity for me to showcase my talents, promote myself, and improve my skills. Throughout the years of this game, I see that there have been many players reach the next level. My goal is to be added to that already established list. I chose this game above others because of my teammates that have attended in the past had good reviews and experiences from the game.”
