Heyzen Vasquez is a strong offensive lineman from the class of 2028. He has impressive physical traits, with a height of 5’9 and weighing in at 220 lbs. Heyzen is just as dominant on the field as he is in the classroom. The Rising Star from Westdale Middle School boasts an impressive 3.5 GPA, as well as amazing manners and an attention to detail. Heyzen played soccer for 7 years before transferring over to football last season. Heyzen has unlimited potential due to his raw talent, and the fact he has only been playing the game for a year. Below is a Q&A I did with Heyzen.
What do you love about playing football?
I love creating strong bonds with my teammates.
What is the most challenging part about playing on the offensive line?
With the position I play, the quarterback is dependant on me to have enough time to throw the football. That part of the game holds the most pressure to me.
What did it mean to be able to play in the 2023 Gridiron Football All- American Bowl Game for Junior High?
It was great. I loved how I got to be apart of it all. I was really excited when I heard I was going to be in it.
You are a very respectful young man with more manners than I normally see from kids your age. Where did you learn that from?
My parents mostly. They raised me this way.
What is your dream college to play for?
Definitely LSU.
Do you have a favorite offensive lineman in the NFL?
I really enjoy watching Jason Kelce play.
Do you have any hobbies outside of football?
I like to play basketball and play with my dog Austin.
How have your coaches impacted you on and off the field?
My coach’s are so supportive. They’ve helped me out the whole way, from being a better football player, to being a better man.
Is there anything about your game that stands out
I would probably say how strong I am.
