LSU Gears Up For Big Recruiting Weekend Hosting Some of Nation’s Top Prospects

The LSU Tigers are getting ready for a big recruiting weekend hosting some of the best high school football players in the country including five-five-star prospects.

DJ Pickett is the number one defensive back in the country out of Zephyrhills High School in Tampa, Florida. The multi-track star is a two-way athlete for Zephyrhills where he caught 52 passes for 1,033 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense while having 31 tackles and an interception on defense last fall. The 6’4, 180 pound playmaker is really forming a relationship with Corey Raymond and the rest of the coaching staff as this will be his fourth visit in Baton Rouge. The highly coveted prospect is making LSU his first stop of his summer tour, which includes some of his top schools including Georgia, Miami, and Oregon. This is a great opportunity for the Tigers to set the tone and win Pickett over, especially when they are trying to get back to become DBU.

With Dakorien Moore recently decommitting from LSU, the Tigers are looking for answers elsewhere and knowing LSU’s past record with recruiting and developing wide receivers, they won’t have to look hard. Two of the country’s top wide receivers from the 2025 cycle will be in town this weekend including five star pass catchers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime FFrench.

Lockett is the number two wide receiver in the country and LSU is fighting for his services between Texas A&M and Texas, but the Tigers have an inside track already with the Texas native already playing on the Fleaux 7v7 team that already features fellow LSU commits Bryce Underwood, Harlem Berry, and Keylan Moses.

Like Lockett, Ffrench is also one of the nation’s most coveted receivers and has LSU on his priority list also joining other programs such as Ohio State, Texas, and Miami. This is a big weekend for Cortez Hankton to try and grab more weapons for the number one quarterback in the country in Bryce Underwood and set up what could be a dangerous offense for the Tigers in the future.

Five-star CB Dorian Brew and five-star Florida State commit Solomon Thomas are two other targets that the Tigers coaching staff would like to woe this weekend.

Dorian’s father Derrick was a 2004 Olympic Gold medalist and actually ran track at LSU so those connections can go a long way in getting one of the nation’s top cornerbacks out of Conrod, Texas.

As of now, the 2025 class is one of the most elite in the country and weekends like this can only enhance it even further.

Here is the complete list of LSU targets that will be taking their official visits and will be staying in Baton Rouge throughout the weekend!
