The start of this game for Istrouma looked like the hauntings of their past two games were upon them, with a drive killing holding call on the first play, the Washington Lions then force a turnover on down because of a bad snap to set the Lions up in great field position. Straight off the the turnover, the Lions score a 20 yard receiving touchdown by Devondre Johnson, and with a successful two point they take the early lead 8-0. Already the Indians have their backs into a corner with the early mistakes and points they have to comeback from. The Indians answer back with the help of a 44 yard rush by Kyree Paul, then two plays later Jeremiah Coleman punches it in from the 6 yard line and a failed two point conversion to cut the lead to 8-6. Unlike most the game the Istrouma defense controlled the Lions on their second drive forcing them to a punt. The Indians were hot all game after the first drive, with two big rushes by Kyree Paul first being a 15 yard rush after a bobbled snap, then two plays later Kyree Paul bust out on a misdirection for 40 yards to set the Indians up deep in Lion territory. With the help of Jeremiah Coleman getting 5 yards closer to the endzone, Kyree Paul punches it in for his first TD of the game and with a successful two point the score was now in Indian favor 14-8, being the final for the first quarter.
Lions came on the field after giving up that touchdown with a motive and that is exactly what happened first play of their drive Aaron Dillard breaks a 45 yard rush to already get them in Indian territory. Two plays later freshman quarterback Devion Stewart connects on a beautiful slot fade for his second passing touchdown DK Mitchell for 25 yards with an unsuccessful two point the score is 14-14. Back into their own two yard line after forcing a punt, the Lions were struggling to get traction when backup to their endzone, and on the third play of the drive, Indian’s corner David Johnson undercuts the wide receiver and gets the interception, to set the Indians perfectly at the Lions 15 yard line. Like he was shot of a cannon first play Kyree Paul rushes it in for 15 yards, for his second of the night as well and successful two point to go up 22-14. The Lions were not discouraged though, they respond right back with a 40 yard receiving touchdown, for his second of the night, DK Mitchell, with a good two point conversion to tie it up 22-22. Watching this game was like watching two heavyweights fight throwing big shot after big shot, and that is exactly what happened for the Indians they get a 36 yard gain from a halfback screen to Jeremiah Coleman. Coming of the energy of the big interception, David Johnson collects a touchdown of his own with a quick slant for 24 yards and successful two point to go up 30-22. Unfortunately for the Indians they got caught looking too much in the back field and just before half ended the Lions get a 80 yard tunnel screen touchdown for his second touchdown Devondre Johnson, and successful two point to end the half with the score being 30-30.
Neither team their first drive out of the half was good with Istrouma forcing a turnover on downs, then the Lions recovering a bad snap. Immediately after recovering it they get the first points of the half with a 35 yard receiving touchdown to DK Mitchell for his third of the night unfortunately they did not convert the two point, to go up 36-30. The Indians were shooting themselves in the foot, with the Lions kicking an onside kick and it was successful, keeping the explosive offense of the Indians of the field, but unfortunately the first play after the recovered kick, a bad snap that got recovered by the Indians. The offense was eager to get back on the field and where rolling until a devastating holding call got them stuck in no mans land on a 4th down but the clutch gene is just in Kyree Paul, with a great throw by Frank Alexander, they convert on a long 4th down, immediately after that big catch, the two punch of the Indians, Jeremiah Coleman gets an angry 19 yard rushing touchdown and with a successful two point from Kyree Paul, the Indians take the lead 38-36. The Indian defense finally got going late, they force a turnover on downs, unfortunately they did not capitalize off this gift from the defense. On the punt attempted the snap was way long and allowed the Lions to have great field position to take the lead, the Indians defense stayed stout until, the Lions catch the Indians off guard with a trick play a hook and lateral, that connects to Devondre Johnson for 40 yards and his third touchdown of the night, with a successful two point to go up 44-38 at the end of the third.
Finally on the first drive of the fourth quarter by Istrouma they finally saw the mismatch on the outside with number 88 against Devondre Johnson, and Frank Alexander connects to him for a big catch of 30 yards to get into Lion territory, and immediately went back to him with a seven yard hitch route. After that a big run by Carmello Daigre to get the first and inch them closer to the endzone, finally two plays later Jeremiah Coleman punches it in for his third touchdown of the night on a 25 yard screen pass, and with a successful, very important two point conversion to go up 46-44. A great kickoff for the Indians forced the Lions back into their own ten yard line. The Istrouma defense was not letting any momentum happen for the Lions, forcing them to punt on their second to last drive of the game and a bad punt had Istrouma inside the Lions 40 yard line. They just chewed clock for their whole drive getting it down to 2:23 left in the game when Istrouma has the biggest mistake of the whole game and fumbles the ball, luckily it was deep into Lions territory. After converting a first down, the Indian defense and rallied and did not allow another reception, and finally forces a turnover on downs, and after three victory formations the Indians successfully survived the shootout with the Booker T. Washington (Shreveport) Lions, 46-44.
