1. North Caddo High School senior WR Omarion Miller:

North Caddo High School senior wide receiver Omarion Miller is our Week Four Gridiron Football Louisiana Player of the Week. The Nebraska wide receiver commit went off in a losing effort against Neville High School with seven catches for 243 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He also had a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and scored all of North Caddo’s 24 points in the football game. To touch the football eight times and to score on half of those touches for 341 yards is absolutely impressive and the main reason why Omarion Miller is our number one player of the week.

This week was our biggest one yet by far with 40 coaches sending nominations for Louisiana High School’s Gridiron Football Player of the Week. Once again, we appreciate every coach for sending in your player nomination. All of the players that were sent by coaches were talked about in the article or on the show. 2. Airline High School senior WR Daxton Chavez:

Airline High School senior wide receiver Daxton Chavez was the main receiver on the receiving end of the majority of those touchdown passes from his quarterback Ben Taylor. The Taylor/Chavez connection just couldn’t be stopped as Chavez had nine catches for 233 yards and five touchdowns in just an extraordinary performance at the receiver position. With the top two players being receivers, it has definitely been a good week for the wideouts.

3. Mangham High School senior RB Jalen Williams:

In speaking of video game numbers, Mangham High School senior running back Jalen Williams did put up some incredible numbers too in the Dragons’ 60-26 victory over General Trass as he had 18 carries for 285 yards and five touchdowns, two catches for 95 yards and another touchdown, and finally, a 73 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Overall, those numbers put him with 453 total yards and seven touchdowns in an unbelievable effort.

4. Airline High School sophomore QB Ben Taylor:

Airline High School sophomore quarterback Ben Taylor was lighting up the scoreboard this past Friday night as he helped the Vikings score 75 points on the scoreboard in their victory over Benton High School. Taylor put up video game numbers completing 26 of 37 passes for 412 yards and seven touchdowns in one of the most impressive quarterback performances of the season.

5. Union Parish High School senior RB Trey Holly:

Union Parish High School senior running back and LSU commit Trey Holly became the rushing king in Louisiana high school football history with 8,705 rushing yards this past Friday in a 62-12 victory over Bastrop High School. In fact, Holly broke the record on a touchdown run in the middle of the third quarter passing Nick Brossette for number one all time. Holly would finish the game with 250 yards rushing and four touchdowns. For Holly, it was a stat line that we were accustomed to seeing from him, but the significance of that game is what makes it a top five performance.

6. Delcambre High School senior RB Jaxon Wiggins:

Delcambre High School senior running back Jaxon Wiggins ran wild rushing for 317 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 carries, which means he averaged 16 yards per carry in the Panthers’ 42-12 win against Lake Arthur to help improve the team’s record at 3-1 on the season.

7. Parkway High School senior LB Barrett Newman:

Parkway High School senior linebacker Barrett Newman did whatever it took in order for his team to remain undefeated this season. He was the difference maker in the team’s 17-14 victory over Haughton as he was all over the field making 19 tackles and a sack on defense while also having five carries for 45 yards and the game tying touchdown on offense. On three of those five carries, he also moved the chains for the Panthers.

8. St. Mary’s High School senior QB Adam Parker:

St. Mary’s High School senior quarterback Adam Parker is one of the best athletes in CenLa and showed why he is such a dynamic dual threat in the Tigers’ 42-14 victory over Bossier. He completed nine of 13 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown while also running for another 107 yards and five more touchdowns on six carries as he accounted for all six of the Tigers’ touchdowns in the football game.

9. Eunice High School senior WR Tylon Cooper:

Eunice High School senior wide receiver Tylon Cooper makes another appearance on our Gridiron Football top performances list after a great performance in week one. Once again, he continues his strong start to the season with another great performance in the team’s 44-20 victory over Northwest. Cooper made plays on both sides of the football with nine catches for 128 yards and a touchdown on offense with also a carry for 29 yards, and then, also having two interceptions on defense including one that was returned 85 yards for a touchdown.

10. Dr. Martin Luther King High School junior QB Joseph Riley:

Dr. Martin Luther King High School junior quarterback Joseph Riley made his dad Joseph Riley Sr. proud this past Friday night accounting for over 300 yards and five touchdowns in a 50-0 win over McMain.

11. De La Salle High School senior RB PJ Martin:

The De La Salle Cavaliers always have a big offensive line and good running backs going back recently to when Ryan Manale took over the program and the team continues to have it now under head coach Graham Jarrott as they are now 4-0. The Cavaliers’ bell cow PJ Martin had 36 carries for 283 yards and three touchdowns plus three kick returns for 34 yards to put him at 317 all-purpose yards against a good defense in St. Charles Catholic for the 27-14 victory.

12. Teurlings Catholic High School junior QB Preston Welch:

Teurlings Catholic High School junior quarterback Preston Welch is coming on as one of the top junior quarterbacks in the state of Louisiana. After having an impressive performance last week in snapping St. Charles Catholic’s winning streak, Welch follows that up with an even better performance completing 13 of 18 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-14 victory over Notre Dame High School in Crowley.

13. Scotlandville High School senior safety Kam Reed:

Just like Scotlandville High School quarterback Zae Teasett gave the West Monroe Rebels all they can handle offensively, Kam Reed did the same thing defensively coming up short against the Rebels on the road in a 31-28 loss. The senior safety did a little bit of everything as he had 11 tackles, two assisted tackles, one tackle for loss, and even returned a fumble 65 yards for a touchdown.

14. Belle Chasse High School junior RB Jaedon Voisin:

Belle Chasse High School junior running back Jaedon Voisin had a big game as the Cardinals’ leading ball carrier with 31 carries for 327 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-30 win against Salmen. This huge statistical performance from the 6’1, 210 pound junior running back helped propel the team to a 4-0 record.

15. Central High School senior RB Glen Cage:

The Central Wildcats had a bounce back week this past Friday in a 51-21 victory over East Jefferson High School after losing to Slidell the week before and Glen Cage was a big reason why with 19 carries for 211 yards and four touchdowns. He also had a catch for 58 yards too.

16. St. Martin’s Episcopal High School sophomore RB Harlem Berry:

St. Martin’s Episcopal High School sophomore running back Harlem Berry is one of the rising stars in the state of Louisiana as he has already received an offer to play for LSU. He certainly showed off his ability this past Friday in a 47-6 victory over Sci Academy with nine carries for 138 yards and four touchdowns. He also did not play a full game as he was pulled out of the fourth quarter. Harlem is a big reason why the Saints are currently sitting with a 4-0 record.

17. Ellender High School senior WR Royal Williams:

Ellender High School senior wide receiver Royal Williams made the most of his opportunities when he did touch the football as although he only touched the football five times, he scored three times off those five touches with one touchdown coming off a 65 yard run while also having two touchdown catches off four receptions for 148 yards in a 52-7 win over Morgan City.

18. Sophie B. Wright High School senior QB Edward Mckinnis:

Sophie B. Wright is off to their best start in school history with a current 4-0 record, and a lot of it has to do with their quarterback Edward Mckinnis, who completed 16 of 25 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 152 yards and another touchdown on 12 carries in a 36-8 win over Higgins.

19. Terrebonne High School senior DE Kobie Jones:

Terrebonne High School senior defensive end Kobie Jones was living in H.L. Bourgeois’ offensive backfield all game long in a 22-17 victory as he had five tackles, three assists, three tackles for loss, two sacks, and one forced fumble.

20. Kenner Discovery High School senior RB Marcus Clark:

Kenner Discovery High School senior running back Marcus Clark played a huge role in the Swamp Owls’ 27-20 victory over Patrick Taylor rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. He also helped his defense out too by having eight tackles in the football game.
