In a matchup that felt like it would be back and forth was completely changed when Dunham High School could not be stopped after the second half. The game started off as a tough matchup between Dunham and Bunkie, for by halftime the score was 16-15 with Bunkie High leading. The first two quarters were filled with deep balls and exciting plays, but soon enough only one team would keep the excitement going. That would be Dunham High School.
Dunham High School lead by Elijah Haven were able to outscore Bunkie High by a total of 24 points. Elijah Haven would have a great game as he would rush and throw for multiple touchdowns. With the help from Jarvis Washington Jr. and Trevor Haman, they were able to generate plenty of yards and points to help advance to the State Championship. The final score would be Dunham High School with 46 and Bunkie High School with 22.
Bunkie High started off the game hot with deep passes and hard runs from their athletes, but after the first half it seemed that Dunham had their plays figured out. After scoring 16 points in the first half, Bunkie would only score 6 more by the end of the game. With some key injuries on their team they were not able to keep up with Dunham which resulted in a loss. However, Bunkie should be proud as they fought through cold weather and injuries and never gave up until the final whistle was blown.
