Meet our next Diamond in the Rough running back, Terrell Pegues out of Mansfield High. Terrell is a part of the class of 2026 and is always adding excitement to the game. His performance on the field has been pivotal to helping his team secure wins. He is a hard worker and hungry to win. He has goals of breaking records, and he is capable of doing just that. I recently had the pleasure of speaking to him, and you can read what he had to say below.
What got you into playing football?
“I grew up playing it. It’s how I express my emotions. I love it”
Who is your favorite player to watch?
“Saquon Barkley.”
What team do you root for?
“Saints”
What do you think your biggest strength is?
“Getting the ball to open space and making good plays by doing that.”
What are your goals going forward?
” I want to break some Louisiana records. I’d like to break the record for things like rushing yards or touchdowns. Really just to do something great that hasn’t been done at my school yet.”
What is your biggest accomplishment so far?
” When I made the news for being player of the week.”
Do you have a favorite football memory?
” During our homecoming game I scored 5 touchdowns and got over 200 yards”
What would be your dream school to play for?
” LSU. I’ve been rooting for them my whole life.”
Do you have any pregame rituals?
“Walk on the field and feel the turf, pray to good, and I like to dedicate my games to my coach who passed. I put up a “C” after I score a touchdown for him.”
In what ways have you grown the most since starting football?
“I think I’ve grown as a man. Football teaches you core values for life and that type of stuff.”
What has the recruiting process been like for you so far?
“It’s been pretty good. I’ve talked to a lot of coaches.”
