Keyon Robinson is a wide receiver for Madison Prep High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has just started his junior season, but he has been a big-play threat since he touched the field for the Chargers. His 6’1, 190-pound frame allows him to make some huge highlight reel plays for his team. He has strong hands with great route running skills and puts all of his tools to use dominating opponents on the field.
Robinson had a star performance vs one of the top teams in the state, Mandeville, with 7 receptions for 266 yards and 2 TDs. This game earned him a Gridiron Football Player of the Week nomination. His talent seems unstoppable at times with good defense being outmatched by better offense. He also can make the most out of bad situations using his quickness and shiftiness to evade defenders.
Madison Prep had a good season last year finishing out with a record of 8-4, losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs to Teurlings Catholic.
He has just received his first scholarship offer last week to Minnesota North College Vermillion, but he is also gaining well-deserved traction from bigger programs. He just took a visit over the weekend to LSU’s campus for their game vs UCLA. With him being in the 2026 class, his name will continue to buzz and gain fans.
One of his most impressive feats comes off the field with him keeping up a 4.0 GPA. Keyon Robinson will be a big-time recruit by the time he is finished with his high school career and colleges should be jumping at the opportunity to recruit him over the next 2 seasons.
Who is your favorite NFL/College player that you try to model your game after?
Deebo Samuel
What’s your favorite thing about playing wide receiver?
Being able to be out in open space and make a big impact on the game.
I saw you recently just received your first offer and you were at the LSU game this past weekend. It looks like your recruiting is starting to pick up a little. Who are some top dream schools that you would like to play at?
Houston has been one of my dream schools since my eighth grade year. South Alabama is another school that I. UCF is someone that has been showing some interest as well.
So over the 2 and a half seasons so far, what has been your favorite HS game of your career so far and what made it your favorite?
I would go with Mandeville. My coaches say i broke records, I don’t know if that’s real but I had 266, 7 catches and two touchdowns. That had to be one of my favorite/best games so far.
How have the coaches and players around you at Madison Prep helped you improve to be the best that you can be?
We got a new receiver coach, Lyndon Rash from Grambling, he helped me a lot over the summer with my route running, how to get open, and sharpening up on everything. My OC, getting me the ball, he tells me where I need to be to get the ball. “No block, no rock.” That’s what he tells me if I don’t block, I don’t get the rock, so I’m always trying to make a play for my teammates.
I saw that you have a 4.0 GPA, I’m sure that’s not easy to maintain at all especially with workouts, practices, and games. How have you stayed focised in the classroom and how important is the academic side to you?
The academic side is very important to me. It’s been important since elementary school, my auntie always used to push books on me so I was always a book-first type of guy.
Entering your junior year, you have started the year off pretty hot, what are some personal/team goals that you look to accomplish this year?
Me personally I was going for 10 TDs and 1,000 yards and I am halfway there. Team goal, you already know we are trying to get this ring, it’s ring season. We started off bad but we aren’t losing any more.
You guys have had a tough start to the season with some close games in some tough matchups, how great was it to get that 50-point shut out victory this week over Glen Oaks
It felt good but that was what we were supposed to do. So it really wasn’t like exciting, just felt more like this is business.
What’s a game you are looking forward to this season?
I’m going U-High all the way just because the competition that they have. They have Key and Zay and I grew up with them playing 7-on-7 so it should be some good competition.
Everyday, I want to get better at everything I do. Like the 266-yard game, I should have had 400.
