DITR: DL/DE Joshua Covington, Woodlawn High( Baton Rouge, LA)

Meet DL/DE Joshua Covington out of Woodlawn High, who is a force to be reckoned with. Joshua stands at 6’3 and 240 lbs and is a powerhouse on the field. With his impressive strength and size, Joshua is a key factor in his team’s defense. As a part of the class of 2026, he has dreams of continuing the game in college and is one you should keep your eyes on. Joshua was a stand-out at one of our recent Gridiron Football Elite Camps and was named a top performer by a coach. I recently got to speak to him, and you can read what he had to say below.

What got you into playing football?

“My dad, he really pushes me. I started playing running back in a little league, and then I broke my arm and I got bigger, so I started playing as a lineman. I also got inspired by watching the NFL and seeing players like Michael Parsons.”

Who is your favorite player to watch?

“Aaron Donald and Quinnen Williams”

What teams do you root for?

” Cowboys and Saints”

What do you think your biggest strength is?

” My explosiveness”

What are your goals going forward?

“To go to a good college and then play in the NFL”

What do you like to do outside of football?

” Workout”

What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

” Making Varsity”

What do you want to do with football in the future?

” NFL and I want to make a statement”

What would be your dream school to play for?

“Penn State”
