D.I.T.R: Noah Lucas

Our newest D.I.T.R. is the two-way class of 2024 lineman, Noah Lucas. Lucas was in attendance at the Gridiron Football Elite Camp that was held at his school, Jonesboro-Hodge in Jonesboro, LA. Lucas is a 6′ 223 lb offensive and defensive lineman for his team, where he uses his strength to overpower his opposition. His strength and footwork are abilities that give him an edge in the trenches. At the camp, Noah logged a 5.4 second 40 yard dash, a 4.6 second 3 cone shuttle and a 7’10” broad jump. Noah’s attributes paired with his broad frame make him a player for coaches to keep on their radar this season.

I was fortunate enough to speak with Noah and ask him some more questions about his career.

When did you start playing football and why did you start playing?

What aspect of the game made you fall in love with the sport?

“I fell in love with the unique plays on both sides of the ball as well as the technique. I enjoy the little tips and tricks to use on the defensive line like swim moves and rip moves. I also like the physical activity.”

Do you play any other sports?

“I do track in field where I throw the discus and am now working on throwing javelin.”

Who do you look up to as a role model?

Is there a college or professional player that you try to model your game after?

“In the NFL I model my game after Trent Williams. He makes athletic plays on the line that are really mind blowing. In college I model my game after Jalen Carter because he his an all around smooth defensive lineman.”

“At offensive guard my explosiveness sets me apart. I’m quicker than most lineman due to my smaller size. I also play with a competitive attitude as well, if you line up across from me I take it as a challenge.”

What school subject is the most appealing to you and why?

“I enjoy science because of the chemical reactions and experiments. I really enjoyed the elephant toothpaste experiment.”

What goals have you set for yourself this upcoming season?

“I want to lead my team to a winning record and get 85 tackles on the season.”

What is something you are working on improving in practice?

“I’m currently working on my kick slide on both sides. I can only play one side right now but i’m working on both right and left. I’m also working on my explosiveness.”

What kind of qualities do you believe a leader should have?

“A good leader should be understanding with good leadership. He should be able to know how to communicate with his team and finally lead by example.”

What is your favorite moment from your career so far?

“In the Winnfield game when I forced a fumble. I hit the running back so hard it broke my shoulder pads.”

What do you see yourself accomplishing after high school?

“After high school I would like to study criminal justice in college and become a game warden if I don’t make it to the NFL. I want to be a game warden because I like to fish and hunt.”

What are some hobbies you like to do in your free time?

“I like to lift weights and fish. I also like to go mud riding with my friends on ATVs.”
