Dunham tops The Church Academy 50-0

Friday night in Baton Rouge, the Duhnam Tigers traveled to The Church Academy Crusaders in a 1-A Louisiana High School matchup. The Crusaders fought the entire game, but fell short to the Tigers tonight.

Although The Church Academy fought hard, they failed to sustain drives and turned the ball over on several occasions. One forced fumble might seem positive on the stat sheet for the Crusaders, but that fumble recovery ended in a safety for Duhnam.

Duhnam was clicking on all cylinders. Multiple interceptions on defense allowed the offense to have the ball in Crusader territory all night it seemed like. A fumble recovery and return set up the tigers on the Crusader one-yard line that would eventually end in a touchdown. On special teams, LSU commit Derek Stingley had a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown. Adding to that special teams score, Stingley had a 40-yard catch and run for a touchdown. Wide Receiver Devin Taylor also had quite a big night. Notching two touchdown catch and runs, 40 and 50-yard scores, one even coming on the opening offensive play.

The Duhnam Tigers will play at home against the East Feliciana Tigers, while The Church Academy plays at home against the Episcopal Knights.
