Grant High School LB Gavin Borland has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, providing a solid defender right in the middle of the defense. Borland is a sure tackler with great eyes and discipline who doesn’t let anything get past him. He has great technique when tackling, good instincts going towards the ball, and an impressive ability to pursue the ball carrier. Here are some words from his Head Coach, Jarvous Felton.
One of his greatest qualities is his ability to channel intensity and competition in a positive way. His athletic intensity isn’t just about pushing physical limits – it’s about focus, discipline, and the determination to improve every single day.

Gavin’s a team leader who has been recognized by his coaches and the district over the last two years. He earned an All-District honorable mention in 2023, as well as a defensive coaches award. He finished last season with 63 total tackles (18 solo, 45 assist), with 5 TFLs and 1 sack. He doesn’t have any offers yet, but he’ll be looking to seize his opportunity to do so this weekend.
I’m very grateful for the opportunity to play in the game, it’s another game for my senior season. It’s something I’ve been looking forward to. I’m ready to get out there to showcase my talent and skills for the game.
