DeRidder High School (DeRidder, LA) linebacker Dylon Rhodes has announced that he will be playing in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
At 5’11, 190 pounds, Rhodes may not be the biggest linebacker on the field, but he makes it up for his pursuit to the football, his vision in diagnosing plays, and his sideline to sideline 4.5/40 speed.
Rhodes is having an All-State campaign as he leads the state in tackles according to MaxPreps with 121 stops averaging 13 per game with five tackles for loss and five sacks in nine games played. The Dragons tackling machine has gotten better each and every season as a three year starter having already made All-District the last two years and having 323 tackles in his prep career.
The veteran starter has been a productive player over his career under Coach Brad Parmley as Parmley has credited Rhodes to being a big part in their run in making the playoffs the last seven years.
Despite his consistent high level play and a 3.5 GPA to boot, Dylon Rhodes is searching for his first college offer and is looking forward to the opportunity of impressing college coaches one final time at the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
“Being given the opportunity to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game has to be one of the biggest honors. I am very excited to be able to step into the sport I truly love in a grander light. This game could be life changing for me both on and off the field. With this being stated, there are a couple of things that I would like to accomplish in this time. Becoming a more experienced player, seeing what my love for a sport could truly offer and widening my perspective on what I would want to do in my lifetime. Ultimately, I want to do my very best. I’m willing to work hard to represent my school, family, and talents to the best of my ability. This could be the start of something great.”
