Ryder Muninger is a dual-threat quarterback out of Tulsa Oklahoma, attending Tulsa East Central High where he is a junior for the Cardinals. With this year’s season remaining and a year left after, Ryder will look to make his name known to coaches by his excellent performances on the field. Ryder has the ability to sling the ball down the field, allowing his receivers to make plays on the ball, with the addition of being able to use his speed to evade defenders and scramble for yards. In Ryder’s matchup last week against Edison High School, he was responsible for 505 yards along with 5 touchdowns to complete the night. When talking to Ryder, he explained he is able to have these types of games due to the coaching staff that surrounds him. He explained that his offensive coordinator, Coach Gilkey, has been a key component to his success, for Coach Gilkey keeps him on the right track with the helps of watching film, staying in the weight room, and working on his release and footwork. After talking with Ryder, I believe he would be a great addition to a college team, for he is a respectful kid, has a 4.0 GPA, and is able to compete on the football field. Keep an eye out for Ryder to be a threat for teams that matchup against him in the future.

What created your love for the game?
“My love for the game started when i was probably 4 or 5 watching my older brother play flag football and the Sooners play every weekend on TV. It grew even more when I was in 4th grade watching Baker Mayfield and thinking I wanted to be just like him playing quarterback and throwing touchdowns.”
What would you say your biggest strengths on the field are?
“Id say my biggest strengths on the field are getting the ball out quick and always giving my receivers to make a play on the ball.”
Which NFL player do you relate your style of play to?
“I would say my game compares most to Baker Mayfield we’re both gunslingers and capable with our feet as well.”
What have been your biggest improvements the last couple of years?
“I would say my biggest improvements have been working on my footwork for speed and agility and my quarterback steps. I have also quickened my release to get the ball out quicker. Ive improved tremendously this year on how to read a defense and understand why they’re doing what they’re doing so we can exploit it.”
How has the recruiting process been for you as a player?
“The recruiting process for me has been pretty slow with nothing really happening so far and having no offers.”
What are some self goals you have as a player?
“Some self goals i have is to try to be an All-state quarterback, hit 3000 yds this season, and eventually earn a division 1 offer.”
How have your coaches helped you become a better player?
“My coaches have been a huge part of my success this year keeping my focused on and off the field, especially my offensive coordinator Coach Gilkey, hes always on me about watching film, lifting and throwing to my receivers after summer workouts which really helped keep me on the right track and improve my game this year.”
