Rising Star, QB Andy Keith, Delta Charter (Ferriday, LA)

Andy Keith is a 5’11, 150lb. quarterback from Ferriday, Louisiana and attends Delta Charter. He recently participated in the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game for Junior High where he went 2-3 in completions/attempts with 0 interceptions, had a completion percentage of 66.6%, passed for 84 yards, and threw for a touchdown. Andy is a very smart student with a 4.0 GPA and is a very outstanding athlete at his school. During his football career at Delta Charter, Andy has averaged 180 total yards, ran a 4.95/40, and threw for 10 TD’s throughout his 8th grade year.

What player do you compare yourself to and why?

I compare my style of play to Johnny Manziel when he was at Texas A&M because I’m not afraid to run if my receivers are covered.

What are your plans once you’re done with football and why?

I plan to attend a college and become an orthopedic surgeon because that field of work will allow me to work with athletes.

What is an interesting fact about you outside of football?

I’ve won the local duck calling competition 2 years in a row.

What did it mean to be able to play in the Gridiron football Bowl game?

It was an honor to be selected and a good opportunity to play against an elevated level of competition.

What do you like about the sport of football and how is it significant to you?

It’s the ultimate team sport and it teaches hard work and dedication in order to be successful. It’s significant to me because it teaches life lessons and builds character.

What is your dream school to play for in college?

My dream school is LSU so that I can play in the SEC and have a chance at winning a national championship, but I am currently praying about it and will continue to pray about it throughout my high school career to make sure I choose the right school.

What are your biggest accomplishments?

Being saved by accepting Christ in my life and being selected to play in the Gridiron Football All American Bowl Game.

What are some things you have overcome in life?

I injured my ankle in the first game of our season this year and couldn’t run for 4 weeks, but through perseverance and hard work I overcame the injury and finished our season with 10 touchdowns in 6 games. 5 passing and 5 rushing.
