Meet Dontavious Lewis out of Ferriday Jr. High. Dontavious got the chance to participate in the Gridiron Football bowl game this past December and was on the winning team, Team Central. Not only is Dontavious a great player on the field, but off the field he displays great character and likes to pray for both his team and the opposing team before a game. Dontavious has plans to attend Ferriday High after he’s done with middle school. I had the opportunity to speak with Dontavious this past week and you can read more about him below.
What did you think of the Gridiron Football bowl game?
” It was very good. I got to learn different techniques with different players and coaches.”
What do you think your biggest strength is?
“Playing linebacker”
What teams do you root for?
“Eagles, LSU, and Ohio State.”
Who is your favorite player to watch and why?
” Saquon Barkley because he has a good mentality and just keeps going.”
What are your goals going into high school?
” Get offers, have good stats, and don’t redshirt.”
What would be your dream school to play for?
“LSU”
Do you have any pregame rituals?
” I like to pray and thank God and ask him to watch over all the teams, both mine and the opposing.”
What’s your favorite part about playing football?
“When I get to meet different people and when I get to put my name out there.”
What do you like to do outside of football?
“I like to fish and help the older people help clean up and mow their grass.”
Do you have a fun fact about yourself?
“I’m a very funny and friendly guy.”
What got you into football?
” I just always loved watching Ray Lewis play, he has a good mentality.”
Do you have a favorite football memory?
” When I got the biggest hit in a game.”
