The Plaquemine Green Devils traveled to the east side of the Mississippi to face the red hot Istrouma Indians, which the was possibly for district as well for Istrouma, but that quickly slipped out of their hands after the first quarter.
To kick it off, the first quarter was the most competitive and close part of this game, to start it off, with the help of some bad discipline by the Indian’s defense, allowed Plaquemine’s star runningback Tyrese Mosby to break a 29 yard touchdown to get the Green Devils on the board. The Indians were not threated by the scoring drive and just like he did last week newly Southeastern commit and Indian’s star runningback Kyree Paul, sprints for a 49 yard touchdown to keep the Indians in the race, and with a successful two point conversion to go up 8-7. This also being the final for the first quarter.
With that being the closest the game was the whole night, the Green Devils after a turnover on downs the previous drive, punch in another touchdown by Tyrese Mosby putting them up 14-8, and the Indians just stalled on offense the rest of the first half and this caused the Indians defense to weaken and give up a 34 yard touchdown to Darrell Tate, and with a high snap on the PAT the Green Devils improvised and converted a two point conversion to go up 22-8.
Right before halftime the rain started to come down very hard, which I think helped Plaquemine in the rest of the game because the Indian’s offense could not come back from a big deficit, the way the Green Devils have played all season. So, with many injuries for the Indians in the early part of the third quarter the Indians offense just stalled to damn near nothing, which allowed the Plaquemine offense to be on the field a lot, and with that the Indian’s defense got tired and finally the defense got beat for a big catch by Dajon Beloney, then after that catch Tyrese Mosby punches it in, with a missed PAT to go up 28-8 at the end of the third.
Tyrese Mosby and Dajon Beloney beat up on the Indians again early in the fourth as well when Mosby had a big run, then followed up by a receiving touchdown by Beloney. After the Indians attempt to get any sort of spark, the Green Devils defense was just too much for the injury written offense of the Indians and just forced multiple turnover on downs and punts, Plaquemine had about four minutes left on the clock and they were good sport and did not attempt to run up the score even more and they just chewed clock and finally kneeling it to seal the game for the Green Devils and District Champs 36-8 over the Indians.
