Opelousas Catholic QB Mark Collins Accounts for 6 TDs as the Vikings Roll Over Westminster Christian Academy 41-6

Under first year head coach Cullen Matherne, the Opelousas Catholic Vikings have been a fun team to watch as the team is led by one of the top quarterbacks in the area in Mark Collins. Collins, who was on our Gridiron Football Player of the Week Top 10 list a couple of weeks ago, had another outstanding performance that will be worthy of another POTW top performance this week as he completed 26 of 34 passes for 416 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for another 55 yards and another touchdown. Altogether, Collins accounted for 471 total yards and six touchdowns to help the Vikings cruise by the Westminster Christian Academy (Opelousas) Crusaders 41-6.

This big offensive performance from Collins helps even the Vikings’ record back at 3-3 while the Westminster Christian Academy (Opelousas) Crusaders also fall to 3-3 overall led by first year head coach Byron Porter.

For this week, both teams look to get over the .500 mark as the Vikings will host Catholic Pointe Coupee on a short week Thursday while the Crusaders will go on the road to take on North Central.
