Edgewater High School (Orlando, FL) 2024 4 Star CB Cai Bates Commits To LSU

The future looks bright for the LSU secondary as the Tigers notch its fifth defensive back in 2024 class in Edgewater High School four star cornerback Cai Bates. The Orlando, Florida native chose the Tigers over Tennessee, Florida State, and Alabama. Bates joins four star safety Dashawn McBryde, four star cornerback Ondre Evans, four star cornerback Ju’Juan Johnson, and three star cornerback Wallace Foster also in the secondary for the 2024 class.

The 6’2, 185 pound cornerback is the number nine player at his position in the country and committed to the Tigers after recently taking an official visit to Baton Rouge in June. Brian Kelly has stated that he is focused on building the secondary and he along with Coach Steeples and Coach House have done an excellent job in winning over the talents of the athletic Bates.

Bates has credited the coaching staff, its track record of producing defensive backs to the NFL, and Coach House’s plan for him as major roles into his LSU commitment.

With this commitment, this makes it the 20th commitment overall for the Tigers’ 2024 class, which is ranked in the top 15 in the country currently. Heading into the weekend’s Bayou Splash, there could be more big commitments to come such as this one in the coming days.
